Dr. Laura Nicely is a 2006 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to veterinary school, she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Psychology from Birmingham-Southern College. Her veterinary interests include internal medicine, surgery, ultrasound and preventative medicine. She is currently a member of the AVMA and outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Nicely enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with family and friends. She shares her home with her husband David, her young daughter Eleanor, and her kitties Juji and Annie.
Dr. Rachel Knight graduated from Auburn University in 2014 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Before attending veterinary school, she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology Pre-Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. She was a research assistant in the Clinical Sciences department at Auburn University where she studied heartworm and roundworm disease in cats. She was also one of the Hill’s Pet Nutrition representatives which helped give her an appreciation for the role nutrition can play in treatment plans. She is a member of the AVMA, and has special interests in nutrition, client education, dentistry, and allergic conditions. Her and her husband have recently welcomed a son, Trotter, and have three dogs, Weagle, Boulder and Sammie. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her dogs, watching Auburn football, reading, running outdoors and cooking.
Dr. Elisabeth Hardiman (Petermann) is a 2010 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to attending veterinary school, she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology-Psychology from Birmingham-Southern College. After graduating vet school, she moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida where she was a full time small animal veterinarian. In addition to her small animal work, she served as an aquatic animal consulting veterinarian for the Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park and also aided in clinical research of the health of wild dolphins following the oil spill. She was a contributing member to a non-profit startup, Healing Paws for Warriors, that provides post 9/11 combat veterans wounded from PTSD, TBI and MST rescue-to-trained ADA certified service dogs. Originally from Birmingham, she is excited to return to Alabama. A member of the AVMA, Dr. Hardiman’s veterinary interests include internal medicine, oncology, neurology, and surgery. One of her favorite things about private practice is the long term relationships made with patients and their owners. Outside of work, Dr. Hardiman enjoys playing and watching sports (Especially Auburn football!), scuba diving, traveling, and enjoying quality time with friends and family. She and her husband Brandon have a new son Reed, a dog, Tucker, and a cat, Weagle. Dr. Hardiman is currently out on maternity leave and is expected back in August.
A Huntsville native, Jaclyn graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She completed the Jefferson State Community College program to become a licensed veterinary technician in 2016. In her free time, Jaclyn love to spend time with her fiance, Daniel, and her cat, Sapphire.
As the newest member of our staff, Aimee is a fresh face to HCAH with lots of surgical nursing experience in the local Huntsville veterinary medicine field. She is a 2005 graduate of Snead State with her veterinary technician license. She is passionate about improving the anesthesia process for your pet. She has 2 beautiful daughters she loves to spend her off time with and her puppies, Dashi and Sake.
Huntsville native Jenny is one of the nurses assigned to pet and client care here at the hospital. She began her time with us in kennel and daycare and moved to the hospital last year. She loves to spend time with her 2 pups and husband and attend local sporting events. Jenny will be attending school for her LVT degree beginning in the fall to improve her already fabulous skills with your fur babies!
Blake is a local Huntsville student pursuing a human nursing degree but excels with your furry companions. Blake worked as a kennel attendant at Hampton Cove Animal Hospital for 4 years before moving up to the treatment facility. He spends his off time playing guitar and hunting with his dad.
Client Care Specialist
Brooke, office manager/client care specialist– Brooke is a transplant from Washington state and is a graduate of the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa in Geology and Geophysics. She moved to New Hope in the spring of 2015 and lives on a farm with her husband Alan, 2 dogs Forest and Jaxx and a plethora of farm animals. Her objective is to provide a positive experience at Hampton Cove Animal Hospital for all clients and their pets.
Cassandra is a transplant to Huntsville from Florida. She is a graduate of Palm Beach State College, and is continuing her education here in Hunsville at UAH. She is an avid equestrian who enjoys competing in dressage with her horse, Cole, she also has a dog named Teddy. Cassandra is excited to join the Hampton Cove Animal Hospital team.
